The former Indian batter Aakash Chopra has given a bold statement on India’s playing 11 against Ireland. According to him, Rahul Tripathi, who got a maiden call-up by BCCI for Ireland tour, will not make his debut for India against Ireland tour. Rahul Tripathi scored 413 runs in 14 Innings in IPL 2022 which is the most by any uncapped Indian player in a single season.
However, Aakash Chopra has picked Deepak Hooda and Venkatesh Iyer ahead of Rahul Tripathi. “No. Not happening. Sorry. There are already 9 batsmen. Deepak Hooda hasn’t got many chances. Venkatesh Iyer hasn’t got a chance.” He further added, “(In Ireland) I don’t think even Sanju Samson will get a chance If we take a look at the pecking order. Because you need to give chances to those who are in this team (squad against South Africa) first. They deserve their chances. Subsequently, The first match of India against Ireland will be held on June 26 and 28 at Malahide.
