7th edition of Pakistan Super League to start from 27 January, Draft to take place on next Sunday

The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced the schedule for HBL PSL 7 which will start from January 27, 2022, and the final will be played on February 27, 2022, with a draft scheduled to take place next Sunday in Lahore.

PCB has announced the schedule for the 7th edition of the Pakistan Super League which is set to kick off on January 27 2022, as it has been delayed forward by a month to clear the window for Australia’s tour in March-April.

Defending champions Multan Sultans will face Karachi Kings in the tournament opener with the final to be played on February 27.
Karachi will host the first 15 games and Lahore to host the remaining 19 including the finals, with all teams getting equal games in both the venues and likewise, an equal number of games under lights.
A draft event is scheduled to take place on Sunday, December 12 in Lahore in which each side will come with a maximum of eight retentions from the last edition of the tournament. The retention window will close on December 10.

“I’m delighted that the HBL PSL 7 schedule has been announced,” said PCB chairman Ramiz Raja.

PCB also revealed the updated local player categories as Asif Ali, Haris Rauf and Multan Sultans captain Mohammad Rizwan moved to Platinum category and Player of the HBL PSL 6 Shoaib Maqsood and Haider Ali have moved to Diamond category respectively.

The HBL PSL 7 will also kick start what will be a bumper year for Pakistan cricket with the Australia men’s cricket team to play a full series in March-April with England men’s cricket side to tour Pakistan twice for white-ball and red-ball cricket. is what chairman Raja stated regarding the huge announcement.
