The Irishman kicked out at Poirier during the face-offs after a friendly build-up to their fight earlier this year.

Poirier was TKO’d by McGregor at UFC 178 in 2014, but McGregor lost the following fight to the same fighter at UFC 257.

During the press conference before the fight, McGregor said: “I’m going to go through his head, put holes in him and take it off his shoulders, that’s the goal here.

“He’s done here, this is it for him, this is the end of the road.

“It’s on, Saturday night he’s getting walked around that octagon like a dog and put to sleep.”

During a recent interview, Jake Paul accused Conor McGregor of being insecure and hinted at a future boxing match. McGregor returns to the UFC on Saturday night to avenge his defeat to Dustin Poirier.
After McGregor faced Poirier at a press conference on Thursday, YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul commented that he could tell Conor had lost his ‘it’.

Paul told Sky Sports: “He no longer speaks from a place of authenticity and you can tell he’s trying to convince himself of his own lies.

“When we fight I will further expose him for the fraud he is.”
