Nico Ali Walsh knocked the former MMA fighter down in his pro debut match. The game stopped at just 1:49 with Walsh winning the match.
Despite it being his first match, everyone saw the image of his grandfather Muhammad Ali in him. He was fighting hard against Jordan. He was quick and seemed more powerful than the former MMA fighter in all aspects. He showed the fans, that he has something like his grandfather.
Muhammad Ali was regarded as ‘The Greatest of all time’ by many boxing commentators and historians. In 1999, Nico Ali’s grandfather, Muhammad Ali was named the second greatest boxer in history. Muhammad Ali had 61 fights in total and won in 56 of them. He has a record of KO wins. His grandson, Nico Ali Walsh, followed in his footsteps and made a debut in pro on Saturday.
“It’s been an emotional journey, this whole ride. Obviously, my grandfather, I’ve been thinking about him so much. I miss him,” Nico Ali Walsh said in the post-match interview to AP.
Nico Ali recorded a TKO victory in his first match and had a great night. In his debut match, he wore his grandfather, Muhammad Ali’s shorts from the 1960s and did what his grandfather used to do in the ring with the opponents.
