The magical Neeraj Chopra made history by winning silver as India captured its second-ever medal at the World Athletics Championships with a best throw of 88.13 metres.
With this victory, it became India’s first-ever silver medal in the history of the World Championships in athletics and sole another medalist in the WCH was long jump legend Anju Bobby George (Bronze, Paris 2003,6.70m).
Neeraj’s first throw was off-target. His second throw was underwhelming, measuring only 82.39m. Although he seemed to be feeling down about himself, his third throw, which covered 86.37 metres, gave him the boost he needed to get back up. He started to believe, and with the fourth throw, which covered 88.13 metres, he came back hard.
Social media was flooded with all hails for the champion. On this account, let us have a look at the top throws by Neeraj Chopra at the International level in men’s javelin.
