The 17-year-old, Palak Gulia and her compatriot Esha Singh clinched India gold and silver, respectively, in the women’s 10 meter air pistol event. Palak startled everyone by showing her calmness in the game and staying at the top of the leaderboard throughout. While Palak finished with a total of 242.1, Esha came in second with 239.7 in the final.
Esha, despite coming in second, had all smiles, cheering her fellow companion (Palak) for her stunning win. With this silver, Esha claimed her fourth medal at the Asian Games 2023, which included two team medals and an individual silver medal in the 25-meter air pistol event.
The victory is celebrated as a classic and historic win for India at the Asian Games.
