On Friday, Indian shooters Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Swapnil Kusale, and Akhil Sheoran not only clinched a gold medal for India but also set a new world record at the men’s 50m rifle 3P team event. The team achieved a total of 1769 points, which was eight more than the previous record. The last record was held by the USA during the CAT championship in 2022.
Swapnil Kusale and Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar secured first and second, respectively, 591 points, and advanced to the finals, which will happen later in the day. However, Akhil Sheoran, despite finishing fifth, couldn’t advance further as only two shooters from each country can participate in the finals.
