
Indian golfer Diksha Dagar did not perform well on the individual leaderboard but her team of Olivia Cowan and Sara Schmidt, tied-Third in the Aramco Ladies Open. Their rival Team Pace (Lee Ann Pace) was in pole position at 16-under with a one-shot lead over Team Simmermacher. But Diksha’s team is tied-Third alongside Team Williams (Chloe Williams, Cloe Frankish, Mireia Prat, Mia Baker), Team Cowan (Olivia Cowan, Diksha Dagar, Sarina Schmidt and Andrew Kelsey) and Team Leonie at 14-under-par.
Tvesa Malik’s team, the only Indian designated as one of the 36 seeded players, was T-25 at six-under and her teammates were Lina Boqvist, Victoria Fricot and Hannah Holden. Ladies European Tour tweeted, “Diksha Dagar on being in Team Cowan with Olivia Cowan and Sarina Schmidt.”

In individual contests, Diksha’s 75 was lying T-54 after the first round and Maliks’ 76 was T-66. On the other hand, Astha Madan’s 89 was further down and was in the team led by Annabel Dimmock. The 36-team event with 108 players has a unique format with every team having three professionals and one amateur.
Also, each professional will complete every hole and the score will be used for the individual competition. The winning price for a team event is USD 800,000 and USD 200,000 for the individual event. The victory team of three professionals will share USD 150,000 and the 36th-placed team will receive USD 5,000 to share.
