
After landing in Hyderabad from India’s tour of Australia, Indian fast bowler Mohammad Siraj went straight to his father’s grave to pay his respects.
Siraj’s father had passed away in November 2020, he was given the option of returning home but he choose to stay back for remaining series as it was his debut in second test in Melbourne.
Mohammad Ghouse, Siraji’s father wanted to watch Siraj play for India and several times Siraj has revealed during the series that he stayed back for the match to fulfil his father’s dream.
After the fourth day’s match in Brisbane Siraj said that, “I am thankful that I was able to pick five wickets as it was a very tough situation for me after my dad passed away. But I gained some confidence after talking to my mom, it made me mentally strong. My focus was to fulfil my dad’s wish.” He also added that “I want to thank God that I got the chance to play for India as it was my dad’s wish too. If he was alive today, he would have been very happy. But I know that his blessings were with me and I am speechless after my performance.”
