A huge number of people attempted to flee from Afghanistan after the Taliban had taken over the capital. Many were seen trying everything possible to jump on board the U.S. plane. Some even chose to hang on to the wheels of the aircraft with one of them being the young Zaki Anwari.
It is claimed that the 19-year-old’s remains were discovered on the US Air Force C-17 plane. Zaki was identified by a known person and it is believed that Zaki had gotten stuck in the landing gear mechanism which closes when the wheels of the aircraft are retracted. The US plane had no choice but to make an emergency landing in Qatar.
The young footballer was ambitious and dreamt of becoming the master of his destiny in his last and final Facebook post. He wrote, “You’re the painter of your life. Don’t surrender the paintbrush to anyone else.”
Zaki Anwari fell to his death after hanging on to the USAF Boeing C-17 in an attempt to flee the country. His death was confirmed by the General Directorate for Sport according to reports from Ariana.
