Quinton de Kock etched his name into the record books during the 3rd ODI in Visakhapatnam as he brought up a superb century against India — his 7th in ODIs against the Men in Blue. With this landmark, de Kock has now matched Sri Lankan legend Sanath Jayasuriya’s tally of six ODI hundreds against India, becoming only the second overseas batter to achieve the feat.

The milestone came in emphatic fashion when de Kock launched Harshit Rana for a towering six to reach his hundred, prompting the entire South African dressing room to rise in applause. Even Virat Kohli, stationed at cover, acknowledged the moment with a clap.

De Kock’s dominance over India continues to grow, joining an elite list led by some of the biggest names in ODI history. Jayasuriya had long held the distinction of scoring the most ODI hundreds against India by a visiting batter — a record that now stands shared with the South African opener.

With his form peaking and confidence high, de Kock has once again reaffirmed why India remains one of his favourite opponents in international cricket.
