India’s remarkable toss-losing streak continued in Raipur as South Africa captain Temba Bavuma won the toss and elected to bowl first in the second ODI on Wednesday. India, who have now lost 20 consecutive ODI tosses, will bat first once again.
India stick to the same XI
Skipper KL Rahul confirmed that India will go unchanged from the winning combination in Ranchi.
KL Rahul: “We haven’t won the toss for a long time. We did really well in the last game. They pushed us and we know what to expect. Dew is expected everywhere we play. Put runs on the board, pick wickets early. Wicket looks good. We are playing with the same team.”
South Africa make three changes
South Africa brought back their captain Temba Bavuma, along with Keshav Maharaj and Lungi Ngidi, strengthening both batting and bowling.
Bavuma: “We are gonna have a bowl. We’re hoping dew comes in and makes batting easier later. A lot of positives from the last game. We did well to get close. Three changes — myself, Maharaj and Ngidi come in. Combination stays the same.”
