SRH bring in Madushanka, Cummins return awaited
Sunrisers Hyderabad have signed Dilshan Madushanka as an injury replacement for Brydon Carse. Carse suffered a hand injury while batting in the nets ahead of the season opener against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, ruling him out.
Meanwhile, Pat Cummins is set to undergo a fitness test in Australia and could travel to India on April 17 if cleared. His availability for the April 18 match against Chennai Super Kings remains uncertain, with a late call expected based on his condition.
SRH are currently placed fourth on the table with two wins and three losses. While results have been mixed, the team remains in contention and is starting to find some balance after early setbacks.
Bowling effort lifts SRH after inconsistent start
SRH’s 57-run win over Rajasthan Royals showed improvement, especially with the ball. They managed early breakthroughs and maintained pressure through the middle overs, something that had been missing in previous matches. The control in key phases made the difference.
Praful and Sakib led that effort. Both picked up four wickets each and were effective in key moments. Praful struck in his first over, removing Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Dhruv Jurel and Riyan Parag, putting RR under immediate pressure. Sakib supported well at the other end, ensuring there was no recovery.
With Cummins yet to return, interim captain Ishan Kishan has stepped in and contributed with the bat. The latest result gives SRH some momentum, but consistency will be key going forward.
