
On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address the medical fraternity to mark the National Doctor’s Day in the country during the outbreak of coronavirus disease.
PM took to Twitter ahead of his address on Wednesday to say that India was proud of the efforts of all doctors in fighting COVID-19, and July 1 was marked as the National Doctor’s Day, at 3 p.m. tomorrow, they would address the doctor’s community at a programme organised by the @IMAIndiaOrg.
The event would be hosted by the Indian Medical Association (IMA).
Narendra Modi has lauded the role played by the community of the healthcare workers who had been at the forefront of battling the COVID-19 disease outbreak. The PM has also thanked the medical fraternity for helping the country fight the two deadly waves of COVID-19, which had put a hold on the developing economy and its public health infrastructure.
On Sunday, Narendra Modi in his weekly radio address “Mann Ki Baat” programme and talked about the doctors as he praised their contribution to the nation building.
In the Mann Ki Baat programme, PM Modi said that on July 1, they would celebrate the National Doctor’s Day, and the day has been dedicated to the birth anniversary of the great doctor and statesman of the country, Dr BC Roy. He added that everyone was grateful for the contribution of the doctors during the pandemic and that the doctors had served everyone without caring about their own lives, which makes this National Doctor’s Day more special.
