
On Tuesday, May 4, Union Health Ministry released the data of new COVID-19 cases in India, there is a decrease in new cases from the previous day.
The report released by the Union Health Ministry states that in the last 24 hours, India reported 3,57,229 new COVID-19 cases and 3,20,289 patients got a discharge, while 3,449 people died of this deadly virus. Total active cases in India are now around 34.47 lakhs. The total death toll in India reached 2,22,408.

Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) also released data that shows 29,33,10,779 samples were tested up to May 3, including 16,63,742 samples tested yesterday.
The Liberalised and Accelerated Phase-3 Strategy of Covid-19 Vaccination has come into force from 1st May 2021. Registration for the newly eligible population groups has commenced on 28th April.
2,15,185 beneficiaries of the age group 18-44 years received their first dose of COVID vaccine today across 12 States/UTs. The table below shows the cumulative vaccine doses administered to the 18-44 years age group till now.
The total vaccination across the country has crossed more than the 15.88 crore mark. The country has administered nearly 16.5 lakh vaccine doses till 8 pm today.
The cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country stands at 15,88,71,435.
India’s total Active Caseload has reached 34,47,133. It now comprises 17.13% of the country’s total Positive Cases. A net incline of 10,918 cases recorded from the total active caseload in the last 24 hours.
Twelve States of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Bihar, and Haryana cumulatively account for 81.46% of India’s total Active Cases.
The government of India has so far provided nearly 16.54 crore vaccine doses (16,54,93,410) to States/UTs Free of Cost. Of this, the total consumption including wastages is15,79,21,537 doses.
