CEC Sunil Arora says social distancing norms need to be followed at public gatherings during election campaigns. This statement comes after Election Commission of India announces Bihar Assembly Election dates. This is the first election to be held since COVID-19 struck India.
The rampant spread of Coronavirus across the country has made it important to follow social distancing norms in all the public places. Keeping this precaution in mind, the polling time has been increased by 1 hour from 7am to 6pm except in left-wing extremist areas.
