As per reports by the news agency ANI the Assam government has declared complete lockdown in seven districts of the state from July 7. The districts includes Goalpara, Golaghat, Jorhat, Lakhimpur, Sonitpur, Biswanath and Morigaon. The districts that marked as showing moderate positivity rate include Sivasagar, Dibrugarh, Kokrajhar, Darang, Nagaon, Hojai, Tinsukia, Dhemaji, Barpeta, Nalbari, Baksha, Bajali, Kamrup, Cachar, Karimganj and Karbi Anglong. The districts that are showing improvement in positivity cases are Dhubri, Kamrup, South Salmara, Majuli.
The Assam State Disaster Management Authority have issued a press release citing revised and consolidated directives for both the rural and the urban areas that will remain in force with the effect from 5 AM of July 7, until further notice.
The directives laid down by the Assam State Disaster Management are as follows :
– Round the clock curfew will be enforced in the mentioned seven districts. However districts exhibiting moderate positivity will remain open from 2PM to 5PM and districts showing improvement in positivity case will be open from 5 PM to 5 AM.
– Sivasagar and Dibrugarh district will be kept under strict supervision for one week.
– Work places, commercial establishments, shops dealing with groceries and FMCG goods, Restaurant and Dhabas, sales counter, showrooms etc. of cold storage and warehouse will remain suspended until further notice. The districts exhibiting moderate positivity rate will open till 1 PM and districts showing improvement in positivity cases will remain open till 4PM.
– There is a complete prohibition on the movement of public and private transport in the containment district. The movement of goods will carry on.
– All public transports in other districts are required to main COVID 19 appropriate behavior . However inter-district movement of people and passenger transport services will remain suspended.
– Public gathering is completely banned in containment district, on the other hand in other districts only 10 individuals are allowed for any occasions.
The Press released emphasized on wearing face mask in public places. Furthermore it stated that other restrictions including odd even formula for operation of vehicles, declaration of containment Zones and exemption will continue to same as notified in June 26, 2021 order.
