Will PM Modi be quarantined? – Shiv Sena questions

Shiv Sena questions whether the attendees of the Ram Mandir bhoomi pujan will be quarantined or put to self-isolation after trust head Nritya Gopal Das tests COVID-19 positive.

After Nritya Gopal Das, head of the Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra Trust tested positive for the novel coronavirus, Shiv Sena asked if PM Narendra Modi will go under quarantine as he came in close contact with the Mahant during the bhoomi pujan ceremony of the Ram temple at Ayodhya on August 5. On the day of bhoomi pujan, Nritya Gopal Das shared the stage with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and few other attendees.

The weekly column ‘RokhThok’ in Saamna questioned if the PM will follow the quarantine regulations. “The 75-year-old Mahant Nritya was present on stage on August 5 at the Bhoomipujan ceremony of the Ram Temple. He had not covered his face with the mask. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat came in contact with the Mahant. PM Modi held the hand of Nritya Gopal Das with reverence. So will our PM will also be quarantined,” Sanjay Raut published in Saamna’s editorial.

This historic event was attended by 175 guests. Due to the COVID-19 protocols and social distancing norms, no Chief Ministers except Yogi Adityanath were invited for the ceremony.

Shiv Sena’s late Balasaheb Thackery was at the forefront of the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya. But even his son and Maharastra’s CM Uddhav Thackery wasn’t invited to witness the auspicious happening.
