Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu tests positive for COVID-19, his office tweeted

Mr Naidu attended the monsoon session of parliament as he is the Chairman of Rajya Sabha, The session was cut short after more than 25 members tested positive for the virus.

M Venkaiah Naidu, Vice President of India has tested positive for the novel Coronavirus infection, today morning.

The Vice President of India office said in a tweet this evening. “The Vice President of India who underwent a routine COVID-19 test today morning has been tested positive. He is however, asymptomatic and in good health. He has been advised home quarantine. His wife Smt. Usha Naidu has been tested negative and is in self-isolation,” the tweet said.

On Tuesday, 70,589 people tested positive for Coronavirus, crossing 61 lakh-mark. The death toll mounted to 96,318 with 776 more fatalities.
