There is no possibility of complete Lockdown in Madhya Pradesh: CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the lockdown is not a solution to curve down the COVID-19 graph.

On Sunday, April 11, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that there is no more possibility of complete lockdown in Madhya Pradesh, as lockdown is not a solution to curve down the COVID-19 graph.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that, “Lockdown is not a solution to COVID-19. Whatever restrictions have been put in place at the local level is a corona curfew and not a lockdown. Essential services are unobstructed in the state.”

Chouhan further added that government of Madhya Pradesh is making efforts to curb down the COVID-19. He said, “People are following all the protocols– be it wearing masks, maintaining social distancing but despite everything, the COVID-19 cases are increasing. I would like to thank the doctors, nurses and paramedical staff for the selfless contribution to society. I would request everyone to keep calm and follow the COVID-19 guidelines.”

Chief Minister also talked about the ‘Tilak Utsav’ which is going to be held from 11th April to 14th April. Tilak Utsav is event which is announced during the meetings of all the CMs with the PM to vaccinate people from April 11 to April 14.

Earlier, on April 10, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also said that there will be no lockdowns in Delhi, however, new restrictions will be imposed soon.

In last 24 hours, according to Union Health Ministry, Madhya Pradesh had reported 4,882 new cases, while India recorded 1.5 lakh new cases and 839 deaths. India has administered a total of 100 million Covid-19 vaccines to 3.6 per cent of its population.
