
On Friday, April 30, Union Health Ministry released the data of new COVID-19 cases in India, after that India saw another day with highest surge in cases.
Report released by the Union Health Ministry states that in the last 24 hours, India reported 3,86,452 new COVID-19 cases and 2,97,540 patients got discharge, while 3498 people died of this deadly virus. Total active cases in India is now around 31.70 lakhs. The total death toll in India reached to 2,08,330.

Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) also released a data that shows 28,63,92,086 samples were tested up to April 29, including 19,20,107 samples tested yesterday.
The total vaccination across the country has crossed more than 15.21 Cr mark. The country has administered more than 20 lakh vaccine doses till 8 pm today. Also, the total registrations on Co-Win portal for Phase-3 Vaccination has crossed 2.28 Cr (2,28,99,157) in just 2 days, as per data till 9:30 pm of April 30.
The cumulative number of COVID19 vaccine doses administered in the country stands at 15,21,05,563.
These include 93,85,676 Healthcare Workers (HCWs) who have taken the 1st dose and 61,89,635 HCWs who have taken the 2nd dose, 1,24,12,904 Frontline Workers (FLWs) (1st dose), 67,04,193 FLWs (2nd dose), 5,17,23,607 for over 45 years old to 60 years old (1st Dose), 34,02,049 for over 45 years old to 60 years old (2nd dose), 5,18,72,503 for above 60 years (1st Dose) and 1,04,14,996 for above 60 years (2nd Dose).
On April 29, The Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr. Harsh Vardhan visited the Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi to take a comprehensive review of the COVID facilities available at the hospital and further strengthen these facilities.
The Union Minister first visited the IPD Block where a 240 bed facility is being setup, to be operational within two weeks. The Union Minister then visited the Vaccination Centre where he praised the efforts of the hospital in vaccinating people in a very well organized, orderly and disciplined manner.
