India records 3.23 lakh fresh COVID-19 cases, 2771 deaths in last 24 hours

The cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country stands at 14,50,85,911.

On Tuesday, April 27, Union Health Ministry released the data of new COVID-19 cases in India, and there is decrease in new cases from previous day.

Report released by the Union Health Ministry states that in the last 24 hours, India reported 3,23,144 new COVID-19 cases and 2,51,827 patients got discharge, while 2,771 people died of this deadly virus. Total active cases in India is now around 28.82 lakhs. The total death toll in India reached to 1,97,894.

Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) also released a data that shows 28,09,79,877 samples were tested up to April 26, including 16,58,700 samples tested yesterday. The total vaccination across the country has crossed more than 14.5 crore mark.
Also, the country has administered more than 31 lakh vaccine doses administered till 8 pm today. The cumulative number of COVID19 vaccine doses administered in the country stands at 14,50,85,911.
These include 93,23,439 Healthcare Workers (HCWs) who have taken the 1st dose and 60,59,065 HCWs who have taken the 2nd dose, 1,21,00,254 Frontline Workers (FLWs) (1st dose), 64,11,024 FLWs (2nd dose), 4,92,77,949 for over 45 years old to 60 years old (1st Dose), 26,78,151 for over 45 years old to 60 years old (2nd dose), 5,05,37,922 for above 60 years (1st Dose) and 86,98,107 for above 60 years (2nd Dose).
Ministry of Railways is also doing incredible works by meeting the State Governments’ demand for the facility of Covid Care coaches during the current raging second spell of the Covid pandemic with its fleet of 4000 coaches (retrofitted as isolation units) with a capacity of 64000 beds.
As per currently available data, these facilities are seeing a steady intake registering a cumulative admission of 81 Covid-19 patients and their subsequent discharge of 22 patients. None of the facilities have reported any casualties.
