India becomes fastest country in world to carry out its vaccination drive

The union health ministry, on Sunday, issued a statement regarding the vaccination drive in India. It says that over 14 crore of Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered within 99 days.

A very significant achievement in the area of the vaccination drive, the union health ministry, on Sunday, issues a report regarding the vaccination drive.

India has now turned out to be the fastest in the world to administer over 14 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccines on a massive scale within 99 days, says the union health ministry.


It added, “The cumulative number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has crossed the landmark of 14 crores on Sunday as part of the world’s largest vaccination drive”, as quoted by ANI.

Well, the ministry also adds that eight states including Kerala, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Gujarat, Rajasthan altogether contribute 58.83% of the total percentage of cumulative doses administered so far in the country.

Furthermore, 14,09,16,417 doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered through 20,19,263 sessions conducted in the country, the health ministry issued the figures; as per the sources of ANI.

These include 92,90,528 healthcare workers (HCW’s) who have taken the first dose and 59,95,635 HCW’s who have taken the second dose, 1,19,50,251 frontline workers (FLW’s) (First Dose), 62,90,491 FLW’s (second dose), 4,96,55,753 first dose beneficiaries and 77,19,730 second dose beneficiaries more than 60 years old and 4,76,83,792 (First dose) and 23,30,238 (second dose) beneficiaries aged 45 to 60 years, as per the statement issued by the union health ministry.

In addition to this, the ministry has mentioned that over 25 lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered in the last 24 hours.

Also, the national recovery rate stands at 83.05%, says the health ministry.

Although, the total number of Covid cases reported in the last 24 hours is 3,49,691 with the total number of cases till date being 17 million.
