Govt lifts all COVID-19 restrictions in Maharashtra, masks mandatory

As the COVID-19 pandemic is in a declining stage, the government of Maharashtra on Thursday decided to lift all the COVID-19 restrictions. The decision has been taken in the cabinet meeting.

Maharashtra Minister Jitendra Awhad informed on Twitter that restrictions have been lifted but wearing a mask is mandatory. “Now all festivals can be celebrated enthusiastically, wearing masks will be compulsory,” tweeted Awhad.

This decision will be imposed from tomorrow i.e. April 1. People can freely gather in public places as usual without any restrictions. Wearing masks have been made compulsory to prevent a surge in COVID-19 cases. The recovery rate of the state stood at 98.11% & the fatality rate was at 1.87%.

Union Home Minister, Ajay Bhalla had informed the states & UTs that National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) will discontinue from April 1.
