Twitter on Wednesday evening, witnessed a storm of tweets related to the Co-WIN Digital Platform’s crash. Several citizens complained of the technical problems they faced trying to register themselves for the third phase of the inoculation drive that is scheduled to begin from May 1.
Reacting to the same, the Central government of India issued a statement and dismissed the reports of Co-WIN portal’s stating them as “Incorrect”, reported the news agency ANI.
The statement issued on Wednesday maintained that the portal has been working smoothly. It also added that more than 80 lakh people registered themselves on the portal between 4-7 pm today.
“It is clarified that the media reports that the Co-WIN Digital Platform has crashed are incorrect and are without any basis. It continues to work smoothly. More than 80 lakh people registered themselves on the portal between 4-7 pm today”, the Government of India said in a statement, as reported by the news agency ANI.

While India is currently reeling in the fury of the novel coronavirus, the Indian government is trying its best to curb the spread of the novel Coronavirus. The government announced the registration for vaccination to those above 18 years of age on Friday.
The vaccination for people above 18 years of age have been brought under the ambit of vaccination and they can be administered with the first dose since May 1, 2021.
