Bihar extends lockdown in the wake of rising Coronavirus till 25th May

Bihar government has announced an extension of the lockdown in the state till 25th May. The decision has come to light after CM Nitish Kumar, with the officials, reviewed the situation in Bihar.

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, on Thursday, announced an extension of the lockdown in the state in the wake of Covid-19 cases that seems untrammeled.

CM Nitish Kumar informed about the extension in a tweet. He says, “Today, together with the ministers and officials, we reviewed the situation in the state. There’s a positive effect of the lockdown. Hence, it has been decided to extend the lockdown for a further 10 days, i.e., 16th to 25th May 2021.”

Although, Bihar has been under a complete lockdown since the 5th of May, 2021. The total number of Covid cases in the state stands at 6.22 lakh along with 9,863 fresh infections reported in the last 24 hours.

Additionally, the vaccination has also been going on. In order to encourage more and more people, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has even announced free vaccination in the state.

Furthermore, vaccination for the age group 18-44 years has begun in the state on the 9th of May. According to the reports of the state health ministry, the state had received 3.5 lakh doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.
