NEET UG and PG counselling 21-2022 to be held in four rounds

The Supreme Court of India has approved the modified schemes, which shall be implemented for the current year 2021-2022 for admissions to NEET UG and PG.

Medical Counselling Committee of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India has decided to conduct the counselling for 15 per cent UG and 50 per cent seats for all India quota for the current academic year 2021-2022 onwards.

All the four rounds for NEET – Undergraduate and Post Graduate have been approved by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and the Govt. of India issued from time to time. The proposed round will be held online with the prevailing norms of the COVID-19 outbreak and this should be followed by the participating central Institutes/Universities.

The Key Features of the scheme are:

  • There will be 04 rounds of Online Counselling i.e AIQ Round 1, AIQ Round 2, AIQ Mop-up Round and AIQ Stray Vacancy Round and fresh registrations will be allowed in these rounds except in the AIQ Stray Vacancy round.
  • The seats which were earlier reverted to respective states after the completion of Round 2 will continue to be filled in by the respective authorities in online mode.
  • There will be an option for candidates to upgrade and exit only in round 1 of the AIQ counselling while there will not be an option of up-gradation to Mop-up round from round 2.
  • Candidates who have joined the further round of counselling will not be allowed to resign and will also be ineligible to take part in further rounds.
  • Candidates who have not joined the allotted seats in round 2 will be allowed to exit freely from the counselling.
