Indian Army thwarts five Pakistani drones attempting Line of Control breach in Poonch and Gulpur districts

Five Pakistani drones were trying to cross the Line of Control in the districts of Poonch and Gulpur when the Indian Army stopped them, displaying their swift response and readiness. Drone operations continue to raise security concerns.

In the Poonch district’s Balnoi and Gulpur districts, the Indian Army effectively stopped five Pakistani drones’ efforts to breach the Line of Control (LoC). The Indian Army acted swiftly and decisively in response to the early morning incident, barring any unapproved access into Indian territory.

In the Poonch district’s Chakkan da Bagh area, there have been reports of two consecutive drone penetration attempts. The Indian Army swiftly responded with gunfire. The drones were forced to retire to the Pakistani side during the fierce engagement, indicating the Indian forces’ readiness and capacity to counter such threats. In addition, the Indian Army effectively foiled three intrusion attempts in the Mendhar area of Balnoi and two in the Poonch district of Gulpur.

According to Army officials, there are currently searches taking place in the impacted areas to make sure that these drones are not dropping weapons or drugs. To ensure the region’s safety and security, the soldiers refuse to give up on their guard.

This incident comes after a similar one on February 11, 2024, when Pakistan attempted to breach the Line of Control in the Mankote area of the Mendhar sector using drones. The Indian Army successfully stopped the attack. The quick action consisted of shooting at the Pakistani drone, forcing it to turn around and face the Pakistani side.

Security officials are concerned about Pakistan’s continuous use of drones for illegal purposes in Jammu and Kashmir. The security and peace of the area are seriously threatened by the suspicion that Pakistan is using drones to drop weapons and drugs.
