Coal Ministry allocates three commercial coal mines to NLC India, Gujarat Mineral Development Corp, and TANGEDCO

The Ministry of Coal has issued Allocation Orders for three coal mines: Machhakata (Revised), Kudanali Lubri, and Sakhigopal-B Kakurhi. These mines have been allocated to NLC India Limited, Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Limited, and TANGEDCO respectively.

Of the three, one is a fully explored mine while the other two are partially explored. The combined Peak Rated Capacity (PRC) of these mines is approximately 30.00 million tons per annum (MTPA), with geological reserves of around 2,194.10 million tons (MT).

These mines are projected to generate an annual revenue of about ₹2,991.20 crores and are expected to attract capital investments totaling around ₹4,500 crores. They will also provide employment opportunities for approximately 40,560 people, both directly and indirectly.

Including today’s allocation, a total of 95 coal mines have been allocated so far, with a cumulative PRC of approximately 202.50 MTPA. This is expected to generate an annual revenue of about ₹29,516.84 crores and create employment for 2,73,773 individuals.
