Air India Express has its passengers en route to UAE from India to be at the airport six hours before the departure time of flights to undergo a mandatory Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test for coronavirus before taking off. “As per the entry requirement of the UAE, a rapid PCR test will be conducted for every passenger at the respective Indian departure airport,” the carrier averred on August 23.
As per the airline, the test counters will start four hours before the departure time of flights. They would close two hours ahead of the departure, it added. UAE has placidly erased some guidelines for Indian visitors. Indian passport holders, who have not visited the emirate in the past 14 days, can avail themselves of tourist visas to the UAE, reported news agency PTI. This relaxation has been augmented to Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Uganda, including India, the news agency presented by citing a Gulf News report as a statement.
Earlier, only UAE citizens and transit passengers were permitted to take flights by following COVID restraints. Authorization of tourist visas for Indian passport holders, who have not visited the country for the past fortnight, arrives as the UAE is gradually steering up to its commencement of arrivals.
Like other countries, passengers will have to abide by the Polymerase Chain Reaction test round on the day of arrival at the place and also on the ninth day after arrival. The UAE official has said it will accept passengers from Pakistani airports Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore. Earlier, arrivals from Pakistan were only allowed to transit passengers.
