PM Modi launches Rs 32,000 crore development projects, including new airport terminal, in Jammu

Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled and dedicated to the nation a series of development projects worth over Rs 32,000 crores in Jammu today, including the inauguration of a new terminal building for Jammu Airport.

The government stated that the new terminal building, spanning over a 40,000 sqm area, will feature modern amenities to accommodate approximately 2000 passengers during peak hours. Designed to be environmentally friendly, the building will also showcase the local culture of the region. It is anticipated to enhance air connectivity, promote tourism and trade, and facilitate the economic advancement of the area.

The Prime Minister also initiated the establishment of a Common User Facility (CUF) Petroleum depot in Jammu, laying the foundation stone for the project. This state-of-the-art fully automated depot, set to be developed at an estimated cost of around Rs 677 crore, will boast a storage capacity of approximately 100,000 KL. It will serve as a storage facility for various petroleum products including Motor Spirit (MS), High-Speed Diesel (HSD), Superior Kerosene Oil (SKO), Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF), Ethanol, Biodiesel, and winter-grade HSD.
