IndiGo flight 6E579, operating from Visakhapatnam to Delhi, reported a technical issue shortly before landing on March 28, 2026, prompting emergency protocols at the airport.

A full emergency was declared at Indira Gandhi International Airport as a precautionary measure after the aircraft reported a one-engine related issue during its approach. The Boeing 737-800, carrying around 160 passengers, landed safely at approximately 10:52 AM, with emergency teams on standby throughout the operation.

Following the incident, IndiGo issued an official statement clarifying that a “technical snag” was detected prior to landing. The airline stated that, in line with standard operating procedures, the pilots requested priority landing to ensure passenger safety.
