Akasa Air will begin offering flights to Guwahati and Agartala from October

Rakesh Jhunjhunwala-backed Akasa seeks to develop a footprint across all of India with a focus on connectivity between metro areas and tier 2 and tier 3 cities. By the end of March 2023, it plans to have a fleet of 18 aircraft.

Beginning next month, Akasa Air will commence flights to Assam and Tripura as part of its northeastern India expansion. From October 21 onward, the airline anticipates beginning service to Guwahati and Agartala.

According to material on the business website, Akasa intends to connect Guwahati and Bengaluru by direct aircraft, with prices beginning at Rs 8,644 commencing on October 21. Additionally, the airline will run a direct route from Guwahati to Agartala with prices beginning at Rs 3,002.

Currently, IndiGo, AirAsia India, and Vistara offer direct flights between Guwahati and Bengaluru. IndiGo and Flybig offer direct flights between Agartala and Guwahati.

The late billionaire investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala supported Akasa Air, which just announced Delhi as the sixth location on its network. Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kochi, Chennai, and Mumbai are also connected by this airline.

By 10 October 2022, it intends to run more than 250 flights per week on nine routes after beginning operations on August 7. The airline will shortly expand its fleet with a fifth aircraft.

With a focus on metro to tier 2 and 3 route connectivity, Akasa seeks to develop a presence across all of India. By the end of March 2023, a fleet of 18 aircraft is the goal. 72 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft are now on its order list, and they will be delivered over the course of five years.
