Volvo Cars India is set to introduce the new XC90 facelift in early March 2025. The second-generation XC90, originally launched in 2014, receives its second major update, bringing it closer in design to the all-electric EX90. The Swedish luxury SUV continues to offer a refined driving experience with advanced technology and premium comfort.
XC90 Powertrain and Performance
Under the hood, the XC90 retains the 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system, delivering 251 bhp and 360 Nm of torque. The SUV comes with an automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system as standard. The mild-hybrid version accelerates from 0-100 kmph in 7.7 seconds. While a plug-in hybrid version is available globally, India will initially get only the mild-hybrid variant.
Upgraded Design and Features
The facelifted XC90 boasts a more refined exterior with an active grille, a sleeker front bumper, and a new alloy wheel design. The iconic Thor’s Hammer LED DRLs remain, while the vertical taillights now feature a split design. Volvo has minimized chrome elements, giving the SUV a modern and sophisticated appeal.
Technology Inside
Inside, the XC90 receives an upgraded touchscreen infotainment system that now protrudes from the dashboard. Volvo has enhanced ergonomics by adding extra storage in the center console, an additional cup holder, and a separate wireless phone charging area. The SUV also offers a premium Bowers & Wilkins High-Fidelity audio system for an immersive sound experience.
