Uber Green electric cabs launched in Kolkata; Here’s how to book Uber Green

Kolkata got its second EV-only cab fleet on Thursday, after the official launch of Uber Green services in West Bengal’s capital. This is Uber Green’s fourth city launch. Uber already launched its electric car fleets in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru. Uber Green is Kolkata’s second EV-only cab fleet, after Snap E.

In June of last year, Uber announced that Uber Green will be available in India. The taxi aggregator began offering its services in Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai and other cities before expanding across the nation. The total number of electric cars that Uber Green has put into operation in Kolkata is unknown. Regarding its plans to expand in the city, the company has also not disclosed any information.

Uber Green uses Tata Tigor EVs in its electric car fleet. Tata Motors collaborated with many taxi aggregators to provide the Tigor EV as cabs. The electric car is powered by a permanent-magnet AC electric motor capable of producing up to 127 bhp. Its 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack ensures a range of around 300 km on a single charge.
