TVS Motor Company (TVSM) has introduced its next-generation TVS RT-XD4 engine platform, a groundbreaking innovation unveiled at the TVS MotoSoul 4.0 event. Built on decades of racing heritage, the RT-XD4 platform promises thrilling performance, unmatched refinement, and precision for an exhilarating riding experience.
Designed and developed in-house at TVS’s R&D Centre in Hosur, the TVS RT-XD4 engine incorporates four dual technologies for enhanced performance:
- Dual Overhead Cams with downdraft port for high revs and peak performance.
- Dual oil pump with a split chamber crankcase for optimal lubrication and all-range torque.
- Dual cooling jacket cylinder head with water jacket that ensures superior cooling and boosts performance.
- Dual Breather System to reduce oil contamination and maintain consistent performance.
The platform also features plasma spray-coating, superior thermal management, a high-inertia shell bearing crankshaft, and a helical gear-driven balancer system for added comfort and refinement.
The first engine on this platform, the TVS RT-XD4 300, has a 299.1cc displacement, producing 35 PS at 9,000 rpm and 28.5 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. This engine is designed for high efficiency, supports ethanol-blended fuels, and reduces emissions, aligning with TVS’s commitment to sustainability and performance.
