Tata Motors Limited has announced its vehicle sales performance for November 2024, revealing a slight year-on-year (YoY) increase in both domestic and international markets. The company’s total sales for November 2024 reached 74,753 vehicles, compared to 74,172 units during the same period in 2023. This marks a modest growth of nearly 1% across its entire vehicle portfolio.
Domestic Sales Performance
In the domestic market, Tata Motors reported a total of 73,246 vehicles sold in November 2024, up from 72,647 units in November 2023. This represents a 1% increase in sales on a YoY basis, indicating steady demand for the company’s diverse range of vehicles.
Commercial Vehicles (CV)
Tata Motors’ commercial vehicle sales showed mixed results in November 2024:
- Heavy Commercial Vehicles (HCV) saw a decline, with 7,586 units sold, down 8% from 8,253 units in November 2023.
- Intermediate and Light Commercial Vehicles (ILMCV) remained stable, with sales of 4,374 units, nearly identical to the 4,385 units sold in November 2023.
- Passenger Carriers showed strong growth, with sales increasing by 42%, from 2,130 units in November 2023 to 3,022 units in November 2024.
- Small Commercial Vehicles (SCV), including cargo and pickup vehicles, experienced a 5% decline, with 11,201 units sold compared to 11,811 units in the previous year.
As a result, Tata Motors’ total domestic sales of commercial vehicles (CV) amounted to 26,183 units in November 2024, reflecting a 1% decrease compared to 26,579 units sold in November 2023.
The Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles (MH&ICV) category saw a small uptick in sales, reaching 12,481 units in November 2024, compared to 12,303 units in the same month last year.
Tata Motors’ overall total sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic and international markets stood at 27,636 units in November 2024, a slight drop of 1% from 28,029 units in November 2023.
Passenger Vehicles (PV)
Tata Motors’ passenger vehicle sales continued to demonstrate resilience in November 2024:
- Total domestic sales of passenger vehicles (including electric vehicles) reached 47,063 units, marking a 2% increase from 46,068 units in November 2023.
- International sales of passenger vehicles dipped by 28%, from 75 units in November 2023 to 54 units in November 2024.
In total, Tata Motors sold 47,117 passenger vehicles in November 2024, a 2% YoY increase compared to 46,143 units last year.
Tata Motors also recorded growth in its electric vehicle (EV) sales. Domestic and international EV sales for November 2024 stood at 5,202 units, reflecting a 9% increase from 4,761 units in November 2023.
