Skoda India unveils Kylaq compact SUV at Rs 7.89 lakh

Skoda India has introduced the Kylaq compact SUV, priced from Rs 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom). Targeting the compact segment, Skoda’s Kylaq combines stylish design with advanced features, aiming to attract a broad audience in India.

The Kylaq is the first Skoda in India to showcase the “Modern Solid” design language, featuring a bold upright butterfly grille, sleek LED DRLs, and main headlamps set lower on the bumper. A faux skid plate and central air vent add rugged flair. Its side profile boasts squared wheel arches, clean lines, dual-tone alloy wheels on higher trims, and protective cladding for a muscular look.

Inside, the cabin reflects the larger Kushaq’s layout, including a 10-inch touchscreen, two-spoke steering, and vertically aligned side vents. Features in top variants include power-adjustable front seats, a sunroof, ventilated seats, wireless charging, and a digital instrument cluster.

Under the hood, the Kylaq runs on a 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine delivering 114 bhp and 178 Nm torque, with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard. A 6-speed automatic option is also available.

The Kylaq’s dimensions are 3,995 mm in length, 1,783 mm in width and 1,619 mm in height. Its wheelbase is 2,566 mm. According to Skoda, the SUV boasts 446 litres of boot space and 189 mm of ground clearance.
