Recent spy shots reveal a test mule with additional sensors, suggesting rigorous engineering and durability testing. The motorcycle features fully-adjustable inverted forks up front, although it’s unclear if they will make it to production. The new chassis design showcases an upright monoshock rear suspension with linkage for improved performance. The bike is equipped with a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup, ideal for off-road adventures.

A notable upgrade is the twin-disc front braking system with Bybre calipers, providing superior stopping power compared to previous Royal Enfield models. The seating is designed for long-distance comfort, featuring a stepped pillion-ready rear seat and a low, padded rider’s seat.

The Himalayan 650 shares its platform with the popular 650cc lineup, including the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. Powered by the 648cc twin-cylinder engine, it produces 47 hp and 52 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Expect revisions in gearing and engine remapping to optimize its performance for adventure touring.
