Ahead of the new Amaze’s global release, Honda has started road testing the vehicle. The first-ever glimpse of the new Amaze is anticipated to occur before the end of this year, with delivery most likely to start in January 2025. The spy photos have disclosed some information about the next version of the Honda small car, which competes with the Maruti Dzire and Hyundai Aura, despite the test mule being heavily camouflaged.
On the outskirts of Delhi, the test mule was spotted. Despite the camouflage making the design difficult to detect, it is evident that its overall shape resembles that of the outgoing model. The next-generation Amaze can keep the current car’s slab-sided appearance while adding some trendy design elements.
In addition, the mule confirms the inclusion of a shark fin antenna, three fixed headrests for the back passengers and smokey-finished taillamps, just like the City.
The new Amaze will use the Honda City platform, but with a significantly shorter wheelbase to fit its sub-four-meter length. The current Amaze’s wheelbase is 2,470mm long, which is much less than the City’s 2,600mm.
In terms of powertrain options, the new Amaze will continue to be available with a 1.2-litre petrol engine paired with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic.
