New Suzuki Swift gets 4 stars in Japan NCAP crash test

The fourth-generation Maruti Suzuki, which is packed with technology, received a four-star rating out of five in the globe NCAP (Japan). The car will be arriving in the Indian market somewhere in May 2024, according to reports.

Note that the safety rating for the Indian specification may differ from that of the International specification. In any case, customers should expect more safety features and greater construction quality from the car.

According to reports, the new Swift is safer than ever with a score of 177.8 out of 197. The vehicle has achieved a performance score of 88.7 out of 89 in preventive safety. Other than this, the new Swift’s occupant protection rating in an accident was 81.1 out of 100.

Frontal-offset and rear-end crash tests were conducted at 64 km/h and 55 km/h, respectively, while the complete frontal test was conducted at 55 km/h and the side profile test was conducted at 55 km/h.

What to expect in the new Suzuki Swift

The new Maruti Suzuki Swift is expected to follow in the footsteps of international spec, with a similar front fascia, LED headlamp configuration, fog lights and side profile.

The inside of the new model will be upgraded, with a modified touchscreen infotainment system that will be supported with all auto connect technology, including Android, Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The car will be powered by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder Z Series engine. It will produce a maximum power of 90hp and 113Nm of peak torque.
