The Windsor EV, MG Motor’s newest electric vehicle to enter the Indian market, has already gained over 15,000 bookings in its first day. Since bookings opened on Thursday, October 3, 15,176 customers have booked the electric crossover, according to the automaker.
The electric vehicle was one of the most reasonably priced EVs in India when it was introduced last month, with a starting price of ₹13.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Starting on October 12, which is also the day of the Dusshera holiday, MG Motor will begin delivering the Windsor EV to its customers.
The Windsor EV is MG Motor’s third electric vehicle in India. It now stands alongside the Comet EV and ZS EV in MG’s lineup of electric vehicles. With its crossover design, the Windsor EV aims to provide a break from SUV and hatchback body styles. However, given its pricing point, it will compete with Tata Punch EV, Nexon EV and Citroen eC3, among others in the EV category.
The Excite, Exclusive and Essence packages are the three available versions of the Windsor EV. The electric crossover pricing ranges from ₹13.50 lakh (ex-showroom) to ₹15.10 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-end variant.
