Maserati unveils MC20 Icona and MC20 Leggenda to celebrate 20th anniversary of MC12

Maserati has launched two special MC20 models: the Icona and the Leggenda. These limited-edition supercars (20 units each) mark the 20th anniversary of the brand’s return to competition in 2004, following a 37-year hiatus. The Icona and Leggenda are built on the MC20 foundation.

The 2004 MC12 Stradale’s livery is similar to the MC20 Icona. In turn, this design honours the famous Maserati Trofeo Light that competed in the 24 Hours of Daytona. The Trofeo Light is inspired by the Maserati Birdcage Type 61, which was built between 1959 and 1961.

The colour scheme of the Icona is Blu Stradale and Bianco Audace Matte. The Italian flag adorning the door and the Trident logo on the side are unique features. Chrome-plated Trident wheels with striking blue hubcaps and brake callipers complete the exterior’s aggressive design.

Leggenda’s Fuoriserie design has stylish black wheels with contrasting mint green accents and a bright yellow Trident logo. This yellow colour is also seen on the grille, doors and C-pillar, highlighting the car’s racing heritage.

These versions share the MC20’s engine. It is powered by a Nettuno V6 engine that produces 629 bhp and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 2.9 seconds.
