Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to introduce a new three-row SUV, as heavily camouflaged test mules were recently spotted near the company’s manufacturing facility. This upcoming model is expected to be the extended version of the Grand Vitara, featuring a more spacious cabin and an enhanced road presence.
Design and Features
Spy video primarily showcases the SUV’s rear design, hinting at a possible connected taillamp setup. The test vehicles also sport newly designed alloy wheels. While the front remains mostly hidden, earlier sightings suggest it will retain the split-LED headlight setup with DRLs at the top and main headlamps positioned lower on the bumper. The overall design language aligns with Suzuki’s e-Vitara, the electric SUV unveiled in late 2024.
Although the latest sighting doesn’t reveal the cabin, previous leaks indicate a revamped dashboard with a larger, free-standing infotainment system. The three-row SUV will be built on the Global C platform, the same as the current Grand Vitara, ensuring a robust structure and efficient space utilization.
The new model is expected to carry forward the existing powertrain options, including the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and the 1.5-litre hybrid setup. Transmission choices are likely to remain unchanged from the five-seater Grand Vitara.
Expected Launch
While Maruti Suzuki has yet to confirm official details, the three-row Grand Vitara is expected to debut in the second half of 2025.
