Maruti eVitara Electric SUV gets spotted on Indian highway ahead of 2025 launch; Here’s what to expect

Maruti Suzuki, long known for its budget-friendly cars in India, is set to enter the electric vehicle (EV) market with the eVitara. Recently unveiled in Milan, Italy, the eVitara has been spotted testing in India, with the latest spy shots captured in Gurgaon, Haryana.

The eVitara, draped in camouflage, showcases a bold design with a closed-off grille and aggressive LED DRLs. A sporty fascia, a sloping roofline, and 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in MRF Wanderer tyres add to its visual appeal. Measuring 4,275 mm in length with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm, the SUV offers ample space and a ground clearance of 180 mm, making it suitable for Indian roads.

Powertrain and Features

Built on a born-electric platform, the eVitara comes with two battery options: a 49 kWh for front-wheel drive (FWD) and a 61 kWh for an all-wheel-drive (4WD) variant. The dual-motor 4WD delivers 181 bhp and 300 Nm of torque, promising exciting performance. Disc brakes on all wheels and wheel sizes up to 19 inches ensure confident handling.

The interiors feature premium materials, a floating center console, dual free-standing screens, a 2-spoke steering wheel, and vertically oriented AC vents. Advanced connectivity features make it a modern offering for global markets.
