Lotus has released three new teasers for its forthcoming sports car, which is likely to be electric. The vehicle has been named the Lotus Theory 1 and will be revealed on September 16. The British automaker is famous for its ICE-powered sports cars, but it is now anticipated to focus on electrification in the next years, having introduced the Lotus Emira as its final ICE vehicle.
The three videos that Lotus posted to its social media accounts showcase the Theory 1 EV’s futuristic design features. The vehicle is anticipated to be an official concept preview for the Type 135 electric sports car, which is scheduled to make its debut in 2028. The ‘Analogue’ teaser clip shows images of classic Formula 1 cars before unveiling the Theory 1’s tail section, which beautifully tapers down into a set of LED tail lamps.
Another video shows what appears to be a Formula One-style rectangular steering yoke that may extend from the dashboard. It appears to have paddle shifters and a small display. The final clip, “Digital,” has an illuminated display strip with unique graphics on one of the car’s front fenders. The video also includes a glimpse of a digital display screen with an icon list on one side.
