Kia India has increased the prices of several Seltos compact SUV versions. Prices for the Kia Seltos HTK, HTK Plus, HTX, HTX Plus, GTX, and X-Line trims have hiked by up to Rs 8000. The entry-level model remains at Rs 10.90 lakh (ex-showroom), while the base diesel variant now costs Rs 5,000 more. The price hike was announced as the festive season approaches amidst slowing market demand.
The Kia Seltos’ feature list and mechanicals have not changed, despite price increases. The SUV is still offered with gearbox options and options for both petrol and diesel engines. On lower trims, a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petro engine produces power, while a 1.5-litre turbo petrol motor, rated at 158 bhp and 253 Nm of peak torque, is mated to a 6-speed manual, an iMT, or a 7-speed DCT. There is also a 1.5-litre turbodiesel with manual and automatic gearbox.
The price increase comes at a time when Kia and dealerships are offering a variety of discounts on the Seltos as they get ready for the festive season. The carmaker will mark the fifth anniversary of the compact SUV by providing benefits of up to Rs 60,000. Dealers, however, are providing more benefits in addition to cash discounts, such as corporate, exchange and loyalty bonuses.
