Kawasaki India has showcased the latest version of the Kawasaki ZX-6R at India Bike Week 2023, suggesting a potential early release next year. The motorcycle may arrive as a CBU from the UK, with an expected ex-showroom price ranging between Rs 11,00,000 to 12,00,000.
With a 636cc liquid-cooled inline-four engine producing 124PS at 13,000 rpm and 69Nm at 10,800 rpm, the middleweight supersport Kawasaki ZX-6R is 37PS and 11.5Nm more powerful than its nearest rival, the Honda CBR650R.
The bike is built on an aluminium perimeter frame and has a preload-adjustable 41mm inverted fork with 120mm of wheel travel up front and a gas-charged monoshock with 151mm of wheel travel down back. With this configuration, the ZX-6R has 130mm of ground clearance.
Handling braking responsibilities are dual 310mm discs at the front with 4-piston radial callipers and a 270mm disc at the rear with a single-bore pin-slide calliper. It rides on 120/80 section front and 180/55 section rear tires, weighing 198kg with a 17-litre tank capacity. The seat height is set at 830mm.
The bike’s features include four riding modes (Street, Sport, Rain, and Rider), traction control, a fast shifter, and a 4.3-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity. The power delivery and traction management of the bike are modified by these riding modes.
The Kawasaki ZX-6R currently has the Honda CBR650R as its direct competitor, with both motorcycles being the sole middleweight supersport offerings in the market featuring an inline-four engine.
