
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has completed 25 successful years of vehicle exports, solidifying its position as one of India’s top passenger vehicle exporters. Since 1999, Hyundai has shipped over 3.7 million (37 lakh) Made-in-India vehicles to international markets, showcasing India’s robust manufacturing capabilities.
Hyundai’s Top Export Models: Verna & Exter
The Verna and Exter, two of Hyundai’s most exported vehicles, have been important in enhancing the brand’s popularity across the world. The Verna recently crossed 500,000 units in cumulative exports, proving its strong demand worldwide. The Exter, introduced in 2024, has quickly gained traction, especially in South Africa.
Global Presence
With 1,58,686 vehicles exported in 2024, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Mexico, Chile, and Peru were Hyundai’s main export destinations. Notably, Hyundai has surpassed 1 million (10 lakh) exports to Africa, highlighting its strong presence in the region.
Commenting on this milestone, Unsoo Kim, Managing Director of HMIL, stated, “Hyundai Motor India has been a key contributor to the country’s vehicle exports. Over the past 25 years, we have expanded our reach across multiple international markets, highlighting India’s manufacturing capabilities.”
