Hyundai Creta EV spotted testing: Key design details revealed ahead of launch

Hyundai Motor is set to expand its electric lineup in India with the launch of the Hyundai Creta EV, following the success of the Kona and Ioniq 5 EVs. Based on the popular Creta SUV, the electric version will be unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Show in January 2025. Recently spotted in multiple spy shots across India, the Creta EV has been seen undergoing tests, with the latest sighting near Delhi revealing several design details.

The Creta EV maintains much of the design from the standard model, including connected taillights, a similar bumper, and a shark-fin antenna, though with a closed grille, different alloy wheels and a sleek, tailpipe-free rear.

Expect the interiors to feature plush upholstery, a new gear selector, an updated centre console and ambient lighting.

While Hyundai hasn’t disclosed specifics about the Creta EV’s powertrain, it’s anticipated to come in two variants, offering a 45 kWh battery with a range of around 450 km and a larger 55 kWh battery option that could extend the range to nearly 500 km.

Competing with upcoming electric SUVs like the Tata Curvv EV, Maruti Suzuki eVitara, Tata Harrier EV, and Honda Elevate EV, the Hyundai Creta EV promises to deliver a blend of style, range, and performance for Indian buyers.
